UTSA sends Herd to 15th loss

HUNTINGTON, West Va. (AP) — Jeromie Hill scored a career-high 36 points to lead UTSA in an 82-68 victory over Marshall on Thursday night.

Hill scored 23 of the Roadrunners’ 41 points in the first half for a 16-point lead at the break. Marshall shot 25 percent in the opening half and scored just three points in the first 4:50 of the second, allowing the Roadrunners a 51-27 lead, their largest of the game. Ryan Taylor hit a 3 to spark the Thundering Herd into a 15-0 run and Marshall climbed within seven, 58-51, with 7:32 left to play.

UTSA shot 20 of 25 at the line in the final minutes to stay in front. Ryan Bowie scored 11 points and finished with 12 rebounds for the Roadrunners (9-8, 3-3 Conference USA).

Taylor scored 21 points and finished with 11 rebounds to lead Marshall (4-15, 0-6).
