UF students awarded endowed scholarships

FINDLAY— Students at The University of Findlay were awarded endowed scholarships for the 2014-2015 academic year.

The following students include:

• Grant Foster, of Scottown, received the Emerson and Laura Pelton Scholarship;

• Jesse Slone, of Oak Hill, received the Byron E. “By” Morgan Jr. Scholarship.

The University of Findlay is a comprehensive university with a hands-on approach to learning located in Findlay, approximately 45 miles south of Toledo.

With a total enrollment of 4,000 full-time and part-time students, The University of Findlay is known for its innovative, career-oriented programs in nearly 80 programs including bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral programs. Students make dean’s list at Ohio Christian University

CIRCLEVILLE — The below local students were named to the dean’s list at Ohio Christian University for the fall 2014 semester.

To be eligible for the dean’s list, a student must achieve a semester GPA of 3.5 or better and be enrolled in at least 12 semester hours.

• Nastassja Alania, of Ironton; and

• Christina Chandler, of Oak Hill.

OCU offers degree programs for traditional undergraduate students, graduate students, and adult and online students. Additionally, OCU’s Trailblazer Academy allows high school students to complete college classes on campus or online.

 

Mountwest hires new registrar

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. — Angela Ross of Maysville, Ky., has joined Mountwest Community and Technical College as Registrar.

Ross’ responsibilities include providing leadership and management of the college’s student registration processes, grade reports, academic record keeping, transcript preparation and graduation certification.

Ross comes to Mountwest with 14 years of higher education experience. She previously served as Assistant Registrar at Maysville Community and Technical College; Assistant Registrar for Degree Audit and Student Services at Morehead State University; and most recently, as the graduate programs completion coordinator at Morehead State.

Ross holds an MBA from Morehead State, a bachelor’s degree from Midway College and an associate degree from Maysville Community College.

Mountwest Community and Technical College is a public institution with approximately 2,500 students. Mountwest offers more than 60 associate degree options and 15 one-year certificates.

Mountwest is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools.
