BEAVER — Momma said there’d be days like this.

It was one of those days for the Symmes Valley Vikings as the Eastern Eagles had a hot-shooting night that included 15 3-point goals in a 97-59 Southern Ohio Conference in on Tuesday.

“They were on fire,” said Vikings’ coach Donnie Saunders. “It wasn’t for a lack of effort. We played man defense, we were on them, they just shot well. If we got up on them, they just stepped back and hit it.”

Josh Thacker did the biggest damage with 36 points including eight 3-pointers. Ethan Leist had 17 points and Garrett Fitch hit four 3-pointers and scored 16 points for the Eagles (10-4, 8-2).

Jacob Klaiber scored 13 points while Collin Webb and Matt Rutt added 11 points each for the Vikings (3-12, 2-8).

Thacker scored 15 points in the first quarter as Eastern took a 28-14 lead. He had 16 more points in the second quarter as the lead grew to 52-28 at the half.

The Vikings host New Boston on Friday in an SOC game.
