Housing complex a good project

While some small signs of an upswing in the economy can be seen, many developments may be reliant solely upon the ability for a partnership of public and private entities to be realized.
This is the case for the prospective senior living community in Proctorville that would provide senior citizens affordable housing.
Last week, an open house was led by organizers and developers on the project being dubbed “Proctor’s Landing” that showed community members what could be on the horizon. This would be a welcome addition to both the village of Proctorville and the entire county, as the facility would potentially bring a nearly $10 million project.
Not only will this be a benefit to our community’s senior citizens, but can be a boost to our local economy through job creation as well.
This project can tackle a myriad of needs for affordable housing for those seniors who may want to downsize from their house or simply have a quality place to live that fits their budgets.
It is important, however, to perceive the term “affordable” as synonymous with something that is cut-rate as this housing community will provide many amenities for residents.
Cultivating developments like this will help residents, the community and our county’s economic future.
