Probation violations on docket

The Lawrence County Common Pleas Court docket on Wednesday was filled with arraignments, probation violations and sentence hearings.

The following defendants appeared in Judge D. Scott Bowling’s courtroom:

• Jacob Massie, 32, of 1112 12th St. Apt. 1, Huntington, was sentenced to four years community control sanctions under intensive supervised probation for counts of fourth-degree trafficking in drugs and fifth-degree trafficking in marijuana, to which he previously pleaded guilty.

Bowling also ordered the man to complete the STAR program, pay $3,750 in fines, suspended his driver’s license for six months, 200 hours community service and ordered that he forfeit $9,399 in cash that was confiscated at the time of the crimes.

• Stanley Carter, 37, of 621 S. Eighth St., Ironton, was sentenced to four years CCS/ISP and 200 hours community service for a fifth-degree count of forgery, to which he previously pleaded guilty.

Bowling also ordered the man to pay $471 in restitution to the Walmart in Burlington.

• Tony Edwards, 36, of 125 Township Road 1161 Lot 16C, Proctorville, was arraigned on a fifth-degree count of theft, to which he pleaded not guilty.

Bowling continued bond from a lower court and added a $15,000 own-recognizance bond. A pretrial was set for Feb. 25.

• Christian Anderson, 36, of 2033 State Route 243, Ironton, was arraigned on and pleaded not guilty to three fifth-degree counts of possession of drugs. Bowling set bond at $20,000 OR and set a pretrial for Feb. 25.

• Brent Lewis, 33, of 6452 County Road 12, Proctorville, was arraigned on and pleaded not guilty to a fifth-degree count of possession of a controlled substance.

Bond was continued from a lower court and a $10,000 OR bond was added. A pretrial was set for March 11.

• Robert Browning, of 751 State Route 522, Pedro, was arraigned on and pleaded not guilty to a fifth-degree count of breaking and entering and a misdemeanor count of theft. Bowling continued bond from a lower court and added a $50,000 OR bond. A pretrial was set for March 4.

• Alexander Buffington, 42, of 1649 County Road 36, Chesapeake, admitted CCS violations and was sentenced to 17 months in prison with a judicial release to STAR after six months.

• Mallory Hasenauer, 27, of 521 S. Fifth St., Ironton, admitted CCS violations and was sentenced to 10 months in prison.

• Donna Sanchez, 30, of 2921 Central Ave., Ashland, admitted CCS violations and was sentenced to 28 months in prison with a judicial release to STAR after six months.

• Ashley Murphy, 33, of 82 Township Road 1088, Proctorville, was arraigned on and pleaded not guilty to a fifth-degree count of breaking and entering. Bond was set at $15,000 OR and a pretrial was set for March 11.

• Andrew McGuire, 24, of 3330 Mill Creek Road, Gallipolis, was sentenced to four years CCS/ISP and 200 hours of community service for a fifth-degree count of breaking and entering, to which he previously pleaded guilty.

• Charles Lawson, 22, of 8223 Orangeburg Road, Maysville, Kentucky, was arraigned on and pleaded not guilty to a fourth-degree count of receiving stolen property. Bowling set bond at $5,000 OR and set a pretrial for Feb. 18.

• Andrea Neace, 29, and Zachary Neace, 25, both of 302 Susan Court, Ironton, were each arraigned on a bill of information of third-degree theft of a firearm. Both pleaded guilty and sentencing was set for Feb. 18. Bond was set at $50,000 OR for each defendant.
