The American Red Cross is currently in the Gary Malone Mobile Home Park offering to install smoke detectors in any or all of the trailers with the approval of family members of the victims.

This is part of a nationwide home fire prevention campaign where American Red Cross is installing smoke detectors or replacing batteries in homes of targeted areas around the country.

The goal for American Red Cross’ campaign is to reduce injuries and deaths caused by home fires by 25 percent.

Each year, the Red Cross is called to 52,000 families of home fires.

As part of Red Cross’ disaster recovery services, the Red Cross will not only provide food, clothing and shelter to the family members, but they are offering to help pay for funeral expenses for those killed in the fire as well.
