The Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office has downgraded the snow emergency level to a level 1.

“Road work crews have been able to get most of the primary roads cleared of snow,” Sheriff Jeff Lawless said. “Most secondary roads and city streets remain snow and ice covered. Temperatures will fall over night and roads will refreeze. Therefore we will remain on a level 1.Please drive with caution if you must get out.

“There have been sporadic power outages reported throughout the county. Power crews have been able to repair most outages in a timely manner. Lets keep those without power in our prayers. We should also keep all those who have to be out working in these conditions in our prayers.”
