Ironton man arrested for Kentucky crime

The Ironton Police Department on Friday arrested a man wanted for robbery in Ashland.

Arasheo Butler, 22, of 1021 S. Sixth St., Ironton, was arrested as he was walking in the 600 block of South Ninth Street.

Detective Joe Ross said the man had an active warrant out of Kentucky for first-degree robbery.

Ross said the man also allegedly had two bags of crack cocaine at the time of his arrest, which resulted in two possession of drugs charges.

“We are just tickled to death to get him off the streets,” Ross said, adding that residents in Ironton had made complaints about the man.

Information about Butler’s alleged robbery was not available from the commonwealth attorney’s office but the crime carries a 10- to 20-year sentence in Kentucky, according to a representative with the office.
