Arraignments fill common pleas docket

Several Tri-State residents recently indicted by a Lawrence County grand jury answered the charges against them Wednesday in Lawrence County Common Pleas Court.

Briann Evans, of 10 Private Drive 15 Apt. C, South Point, was arraigned on a fifth-degree count of breaking and entering, to which she pleaded not guilty.

Judge D. Scott Bowling set bond at $5,000 own-recognizance and a pretrial was set for March 18.

Bradley King, 27, of 80 Township Road 1205, Proctorville, was arraigned on a fifth-degree count of breaking and entering, to which he pleaded not guilty.

Bowling continued bond from a lower court and set bond at $2,500 OR. A pretrial was set for April 1.

Audrey Lester, 48, of 92 Township Road 1122, Proctorville, was arraigned on a fourth-degree count of theft of drugs, to which she pleaded not guilty.

Bond was set at $10,000 OR and a pretrial was set for April 1.

Taylor Stephens, 24, of Reed Street, Flatwoods, Kentucky, was arraigned on and pleaded not guilty to a fifth-degree count of possession of heroin. Bond was set at $10,000 OR and a pretrial was set for April 1. Bowling also ordered weekly drug screenings.

Joe Webb II, 36, of 14284 State Route 7, Proctorville, was arraigned on and pleaded not guilty to a fifth-degree count of theft. Bond was set at $7,500 OR and a pretrial was set for April 1.

Patrick Cummings, 36, of 604 W. 23rd St., Huntington, was arraigned on a bill of information of a fourth-degree count of misuse of a credit card and fifth-degree count of forgery, to which he pleaded guilty.

Bowling sentenced the man to one year in prison.

Christina Anderson, 34, of 2033 State Route 243, Ironton, was sentenced to four years community control sanctions under intensive supervised probation for three counts of fifth-degree possession of drugs, to which she previously pleaded guilty. Bowling also ordered to woman to pay a $1,250 fine, perform 200 hours of community service and suspended her driver’s license for six months.

Justin Kersey, 26, of 81 Township Road 1043 Apt. B, Chesapeake, pleaded guilty to fifth-degree counts of vandalism and harassment of an inmate, as well as a misdemeanor count of resisting arrest.

Bowling set sentencing for April 1.

Cecil Gordon, 32, of 460 Woodmount Drive, Ashland, admitted CCS violations and was sentenced to two years in prison.

Ricky Bare, 57, of 704 S. Seventh St., Ironton, pleaded guilty to a fourth-degree count of theft. Bowling set sentencing for March 18.
