Olive Brammer

Olive Eloise Brammer, 99, of Ironton, died Saturday, March 14, 2015, at Jo-Lin Health Center. She was born Jan. 16, 1916, in South Point, to the late Miller and Blanche Freeman Gibson. She was the widow of Clyde Brammer. She was a member of Ice Creek Missionary Baptist Church. She retired as a Deering Elementary School cook.

She was preceded in death by one daughter, Ruth Taylor; granddaughter, Tina Meeker; grandson, Walter Taylor Jr.; sister, Gladys Keeney; and brothers, Howard Gibson, Carl Gibson, Harold Gibson and Frank Gibson. She is survived by son, Bernard (Suzie) Brammer; daughter, Eloise (Herb) McKinney; brother, Billie Gibson; sister, Betty Knipp; seven grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and dear friends, Vincent (Ann) Rice and Bo (Darlene) Elliot.

Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at O’Keefe-Baker Funeral Home. Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Ice Creek Missionary Baptist Church with the reverends Warner and Mullins. Burial will be in Ice Creek Cemetery.

Ruth Ohlsson, 97, of South Point, died Sunday, March 15, 2015, in Heartland of Riverview. Schneider-Griffin Funeral Home, Chesapeake, is in charge of arrangements, which are incomplete.
