Driver cited in Friday accident
SOUTH POINT — An early Friday morning accident on U.S. 52 snarled commuter traffic but resulted in no serious injuries.
At 7:50 a.m. a gray 2003 Mitsubishi driven by juveniles on their way to school was westbound on U.S. 52. At the traffic sign on Lick Creek Road was stopped a white 2001 Dodge Dakota driven by Brian Simpson, 19, of Kitts Hill.
The Dodge truck pulled out from the stop sign and struck the Mitsubishi.
The juveniles were taken to Cabell Huntington Hospital; Simpson was taken to St. Mary’s Medical Center. All were treated and released.
Simpson was cited to failure to yield at a stop sign.
