The Ironton National Little League will open its season on Saturday with ceremonies beginning at 10 a.m.

Tee ball will open on Saturday, April 25, with its opening day ceremonies at 10 a.m.

This year the Ironton Little League will host the Major League Baseball “Pitch, Hit and Run” event for boys and girls ages 7-14.

The “Pitch, Hit and Run” will be held at noon on Saturday, April 18, at the little league complex with registration beginning at 10:30 a.m.

Makeup date is set for April 25.

“Pitch, Hit and Run” tests players’ skills throwing strikes to a designated target, hitting off a tee for distance and accuracy, and running from second base to home for times.

Age groups are 7-8, 9-10, 11-12 and 13-14. Youths can advance to four different levels including thenational finals at the 2015 All-Star Game that will be held in Cincinnati.

All participants must bring a copy of their birth certificate and their parent or guardian fill out a registration/waiver form prior to the start of the competition.
