Lawrence County residents can get a chance to see what projects the Ohio Department of Transportation has scheduled for the next four years.

On Tuesday from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. ODOT will host the biennial Statewide Transportation Improvement Program (STIP), at the Rotunda at the Ohio University Southern-Ironton Campus.

“It is to highlight projects proposed or planned in District 9,” Kathleen Fuller, public information officer for the district, said. “We have these on schedule to be completed. It is a very fluid set of plans. Most of them are proposed.”

There are between 30 and 40 projects listed for Lawrence County, Fuller said.

“Typically they are small projects like bridge and culvert replacements,” she said. “These are our regular work plans, all of the preservation, guardrails, signalization and pavement markings.”

The format will be an open house where residents can come to look over schematics, a list of plans and talk with ODOT representatives.

“It is an opportunity for the public to come out and see what is planned for their area,” Fuller said.
