PEDRO — Maybe winning is cheaper by the dozen.

Rock Hill got 12 hits in each game as the Redwomen swept the River Valley Lady Raiders 8-5 and 16-2 in five innings on Saturday.

“They all contributed hitting-wise from top to bottom in the lineup,” said Rock Hill coach Sam Gue.

Jenna Lane had a big day as she went 5-6 with a double, a triple and four runs batted in. Kenzie Harrah was 3-4 with two doubles and three RBIs and Riann Keating was 4-8 with a double and an RBI.

Lilly McGinnis was 3-7 with an RBI, Kaci Russell 2-5 with an RBI and Anna Darby 3-8 with a double for Rock Hill (7-0).

Jill Hairston got the win in both games. She gave up 10 hits in the first game with seven strikeouts and one walk.

She came back in the nightcap to allow just six hits as she struck out nine and did not issue a walk.

“Jill seemed to get stronger as the day went on,” said Gue.

River Valley took a 1-0 led in the first inning of the first game, but Rock Hill tied the game in the second when McKenzie Barcus singled, Brooklynn Kingery had a sacrifice and Russell go an RBI single.

The Lady Raiders went up 3-1 in the top of the third only to have Rock Hill get a run back in the bottom of the inning on hits by Darby and McGinnis.

River Valley went ahead 4-2 in the top of the fourth, but the Redwomen answered with three runs in the bottom of the inning.

Russell was safe on an error and Lane had an RBI double. Hairston grounded out as Lane scored, Harrah doubled, Keating singled and a passed ball scored a run.

The Raiders scored in the sixth but the Redwomen scored three in their half of the inning.

Hairston singled, Harrah walked and Keating had two-run double. A passed ball scored the final run.

Rock Hill settled the second game early.

River Valley took a 1-0 lead in the top of the first, but the Redwomen scored eight times in the bottom of the inning keyed by Lane’s three-run triple.

The Lady Raiders scored a run in the third but Rock Hill came back to score five runs as Lane, Hairston, Harrah and McGinnis all had RBI singles.

Rock Hill visits South Point on Monday.
