AID — Chayden Renfroe’s performance made his dad proud. The Symmes Valley Vikings were pretty happy, too.

Renfroe struck out nine and didn’t walk a batter as he pitched a five inning four-hitter to lead the Symmes Valley Vikings to an 11-1 rout of the Western Indians in a Southern Ohio Conference game.

Chayden — son of Vikings’ head coach Chad Renfroe — was making his first career start.

Symmes Valley (5-0, 4-0) had 12 its led by Tanner Mays who was 3-for-3 with a double and Payton Hayes who was 2-2.

Trent Thompson was 2-3 while Austin Mannon, Jacob Klaiber, Tyler Carpenter, Nick Klaiber and Renfroe all had a hit.

Jacob Klaiber had a two-run single as the Vikings went up 3-1 in the first inning.

Carpenter had two-run double and Thompson a two-run single in a six-run second inning and it was 9-1.

The Vikings added two runs in the third to cap the scoring.
