Going out and enjoying the afternoon sunshine or breeze would seem like an easy thing to do, but this is not always the case.

For many, it is not always quite as simple as leaving the house to go on a hike or fishing at Lake Vesuvius.

For anyone with physical restrictions, whether it be age or health- related, once again the Wheelin’ Sportsman Fishing event was held at Wayne National Forest in collaboration with sponsors that offered those the opportunity to get out and enjoy the day.

We commend all those involved in putting this event on each year, as it serves as a great experience for many Lawrence County residents.

At the end of the day, this event is more about those residents being able to participate or accomplish something they otherwise may not try.

Seeing this event continue each year along with seeing the joy on the faces of those participating is something that is definitely heartwarming.

The event only lasts a few hours one day each year, but the memories will go far beyond and be remembered for years to come for many Lawrence County residents.
