Gladys Cox

Gladys Cox, 90, of Pedro, passed away Monday, April 27, 2015, at the Heartland of Jackson Nursing Home. The Wayne County, West Virginia native was born Oct. 5, 1924, a daughter of the late George L. and Mary Smith Gillespie. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Willis Cox, who passed away March 3, 1999.

Mrs. Cox was a homemaker and a loving mother. She attended Decatur schools and was of the Decatur Apostolic Church.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two sons, Ira Cox and Ralph Cox; six brothers; and five sisters.

She is survived by her children; Ora Cox of Ironton, Dixie Malone of Napoleon, Judy Depriest of Pedro, Gene Cox of Decatur, Joy Hutson of White Oak, Tennessee, Dennie Cox of Pedro, Garald Cox of Decatur, Bernie Cox of Decatur, Thomas Cox of Decatur, Rick Cox of Pedro, Ronnie Cox of Decatur, Kathleen Strickland of Oak Hill and Penny Montgomery of Grove City; three sisters, Jewel Murnahan of Ironton, Ruth Adkins of Oak Hill and Haley Howell of Orlando, Florida; 60 grandchildren; 89 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Friday at the Greater Faith Apostolic Church with Ministers Gary Malone and Terry Gillum officiating. Burial will follow in Buckhorn Cemetery and visitation will be Thursday from 5-9 p.m. at the church. Pallbearers will be her sons, Ora, Gene, Dennie, Garald, Bernie, Thomas, Rick and Ronnie Cox. Emma Elaine Dickerson Earls, 77, of Proctorville, died Sunday, April 26, 2015, at home. She is survived by her husband, Ernest Earls, Jr. A celebration of life service will be 11 a.m. Friday at Hall Funeral Home and Crematory, Proctorville. Emma Sheets, of Chesapeake, died Tuesday, April 28, 2015, at home. She is survived by her husband, Harold Sheets.
