PEDRO — The South Point Pointers didn’t waste any time.

The Pointers scored eight of their runs in the first three innings en route to a 9-2 Ohio Valley Conference win over the Rock Hill Redmen on Tuesday.

Chris Woodard’s groundout drove in a run in the first inning and the Pointers erupted for six runs in the second inning.

Drew Adams had an RBI double, Trey Kearns and Woodard had run-scoring singles and Alex Whitt hit a sacrifice fly to key the uprising.

The Pointers had 10 hits with Adams going 3-of-4 with a double and an RBI. Kearns was 2-4 with an RBI as eight different players got hits.

Brandon Schob was 2-3 with an RBI for the Redmen (0-9, 0-8).

Woodard got the win with a seven-hit complete game. He struck out nine and walked two.

Schob took the loss. Only two of the runs he allowed were earned as Rock Hill committed five errors.
