National Day of Prayer will be celebrated at three separate venues on Thursday with the first starting at 10 a.m. at the VFW Post 6878 in Proctorville.

There at the Southern Ohio Memorial at the post home from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. will be an open microphone and podium available for public prayer. There will also be a brief presentation of the law that established the day.

At noon members of the Ironton Area Ministerial Association will meet at the courthouse lawn for a special service of readings and prayers.

At 7 p.m. at Central Christian Church in Ironton will be a rally around the flag pole service on the front lawn of the church, also marking the special day.
