The Lawrence-Scioto Solid Waste Management District will sponsor its E-waste and Shred Day from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday at the Ironton Hills Plaza. The event is for Lawrence County residents only and this will be the last waste day for the district, as the household waste day as been canceled.
Dan Palmer, director of the district, said 71 vehicles came through the event last year, dropping off 1,400 pounds of documents to be shredded and 2,600 pounds in E-waste.
E-waste can included old computers, keyboards and other electronic equipment. Televisions are not permitted.
“If you have any sensitive documents that need to be disposed of, now is the time to do it,” Palmer said. “If you don’t stay to see that it is shredded, we will see that it is shredded.”
