CHESAPEAKE — Jacob Henson has come close three times before. Looks like the fourth time was the charm.

After missing out on three potential no-hitters three other times in his career, Henson finally got the milestone game as he pitched a five-inning no-hitter in the Chesapeake Panthers 10-0 win over the Federal Hocking Lancers on Wednesday in the Division III sectional tournament.

Henson struck out 12 and walked one as he threw just 56 pitches.

Chesapeake got two runs in the first inning on singles by Casey McComas, Blake Lester and Henson for a run, an infield hit by Jacob Eddy and Blake Ashworth reached on an error for a run.

The lead went to 6-0 in the second inning.

Kolton Webb singled and McComas and Nate Smith reached on errors. Lester hit a sacrifice fly and when the ball was dropped in the outfield McComas scored.

Dakota Blankenship hit into a fielder’s choice as a run scored and Henson grounded out for the fourth run.

The Panthers got three more runs in the third and it was 9-0.

Bobby Arthur singled, Webb grounded out as pinch-runner Kelton Jones went to second and scored on a hit by McComas.

Smith tripled home a run and then scored on Lester’s base hit.

Chesapeake ended the game early with a run in the fifth on singles by Lester, Henson and Eddy.

Chesapeake (15-6 will host South Point on Saturday in the sectional finals. The Pointers beat Coal Grove 5-1.
