Charles Kelley

Charles Curtis “Chuck” Kelley, 54, passed away on May 23,2015, at Mt. Carmel West Hospital in Columbus. Chuck was born on Nov. 22, 1960, in Ironton.

He graduated from Rock Hill High School in 1979 and from Ohio University Athens Campus with a bachelor of communication science degree in 1983. Chuck had a long successful career in media -advertising sales, first at the Columbus Dispatch and later with the Suburban News Publications and the Herald Dispatch in Huntington, West Virginia.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth and Eleanor Kelley of Pedro; and his paternal grandparents, John and Nola Kelley and his maternal grandparents, George and Jenny Unrue. He is survived by his loving longtime partner, Andrew Sterling of Columbus; sister, Lois (Donald) Barcus of Kitts Hill; brothers, George (Theresa) Kelley of Franklin Furnace, John (Marsha) Kelley of Willow Wood and Brian (Nancy) Kelley of Ironton; and several nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Woodland Cemetery Section 22 at his parents’ gravesite. A dinner will be served following the service at the First United Methodist Church Fellowship Hall. A Celebration of Chuck’s life will take place at 3 p.m. Sunday at First Congregational Church UCC, 444 E. Broad St., Columbus, OH. In lieu of flowers, contributions in his name may be made to First Congregational Church.

Chelsea Fetters

Chelsea Lee Fetters, 18, of Milford, Indiana, passed away Saturday, May 23, 2015, in Indiana. The Huntington, West Virginia, native was born June 27, 1996, the daughter of Gordon Lee Fetters of Ironton and Peggy Lee Mullins of Milford, Indiana.

Chelsea was scheduled to graduate from Wawasee High School in Syracuse, Indiana on June 6 with the Class of 2015, where she was a member of the F.F.A. She was an employee of The Frog in Syracuse, Indiana, and was a licensed CNA. She attended the Church of the Nazarene in Warsaw, Indiana, where she was the leader of the church youth group. She loved having a good time with friends and family.

She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Margie Ann Fetters Tipton and Morris Fetters, Jr.; and her maternal grandfather, Robert Hall.

In addition to her parents, she is survived by two sisters, Whitney Schwab and Rachel Mullins, both of Milford, Indiana; a brother, Christopher Lee Fetters of Ironton; her maternal grandmother, Mary Salyers of Pedro; two nieces, Liliana and Alaina of Milford, Indiana; two uncles, Frank Salyers, Jr. of Pedro and Frankie Allen Salyers of Pendleton, Indiana; her stepfather, Oscar Montelongo of Milford, Indiana; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and family members.

Funeral services will be 3 p.m. Saturday at Phillips Funeral Home with pastor Kenny Ruggles officiating. Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery and visitation will be Saturday from 1 p.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home. Phronsie Simpkins

Phronsie Irene Simpkins, 75, of Proctorville, died Tuesday, May 26, 2015, at Cabell Huntington Hospital. She is survived by her husband, Lloyd Simpkins. Private family services will be today. Kristen Conner

Kristen Conner, 30, of North Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, formerly of Crown City, died Saturday, May 23, 2015. Funeral service will be conducted 2 p.m. Sunday at Hall Funeral Home and Crematory, Proctorville, by pastor Jerry Galloway. Burial will follow in Miller Memorial Gardens, Miller.
