Students deserve support

In a little over a month from now, residents from throughout the county and region will ascend on the Lawrence County Fairgrounds for this year’s fair.
While people will hear the screams from rides and smell the multitude of fair food options, the events occurring revolving around the 4-H and Future Farmers of America projects are a must-see.
This is not just because the animals are cute, but because of the hard work that each of these young people have put in over several months.
Making and seeing a commitment by all those 4-H and FFA club members is something that should be commended. While fairgoers only see the end result at the county fair each year, these shows are the culmination of many months of hard work and dedication to their respective projects.
If you see or know one of these young residents, it is important to continue to offer and show support for their efforts as they come down the home stretch of the fair projects.
Regardless of the outcome next month and what projects are declared the winners, each participant should be extremely proud for making the commitment and seeing it through.
These projects aren’t simply about who takes the top prize, but more about preparing them for the rest of their lives.
