Building up the county

While two locations have been open for several months, both the Gateway Centre and Wyngate at RiversEdge both held grand openings this week with company representatives, local leaders and community members.

Each of these events were celebrations of projects that were years in the making and a testament to all those involved in getting these developments done.

The Gateway Centre on 9th Street in Ironton currently has the Holiday Inn Express and Suites and Frisch’s Big Boy restaurant, but plans include a second phase with the potential for other tenants.

Wyngate at RiversEdge is a senior living community in Proctorville that affords residents the ability to have both assisted and independent living along with an on-site care facility for both residents and the community.

Each of these are wonderful additions to the county, as both have provided a boost to the local economy as well as creating jobs.

While we are happy that these companies have invested in our county, we hope to continue to see new developments that will allow the community and region to continue to move forward.

Looking ahead and continuing to work hard to get these new businesses to invest in Lawrence County will be beneficial for all involved.
