Mary Perry
Mary Ollie Whitt Perry, 63, of South Point, passed away Wednesday, June 3, 2015, at St. Mary’s Medical Center, Huntington, West Virginia. Mary was born July 17, 1951, in Mingo County, West Virginia, a daughter of the late Sam and Belva Haney Whitt.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Earl Michael Perry; and a brother, Lewis Whitt.
She attended the South Point Church of the Nazarene. Mary is survived by her son, Chris (Lora) Whitt of South Point; her daughter and caregiver, Janet Whitt of South Point; two sisters, June Savage of Milan, Michigan, and Faye (Richard) Hobby of Swanton; two brothers, Charles (Amanda) Whitt of Clinton, Michigan, and Sam (Pauline) Whitt of Pilgrim, Kentucky; grandchildren, Michael, Alex, Jared and Emilee Whitt, all of South Point; one great-grandchild, Carter Bentley Whitt of Proctorville; many close friends with a special friend, Carol Fitch of South Point; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Slack and Wallace Funeral Home, South Point, with pastor Charles Lane and pastor Robert Carter officiating. Burial will follow at Highland Memorial Gardens, South Point. Friends may call from noon-2 p.m. Tuesday before the service the funeral home. Hal Spurlock, Jr.
Hal Dial Spurlock, Jr., 76, of Huntington, West Virginia, died Thursday, June 4, 2015. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Gladys “Joann” Vance Spurlock. Funeral service will be conducted 2 p.m. Sunday at Hall Funeral Home and Crematory, Proctorville, by pastor Brady Lipscomb. Burial will follow in Miller Memorial Gardens, Miller.
