Family Fun Days line-up announced
COAL GROVE — With a little more than two weeks to go before the crowds descend on the village of Coal Grove, the entertainment line-up is set for the Coal Grove Betterment Club’s annual Family Fun Days.
The festival will be July 1-3 at Paul Porter Park and is a major fundraiser for the group, whose members take on beautification and civic projects throughout the village. Some of those projects include the Christmas display at Paul Porter Park, flowerpot decorations, a $1,000 scholarship for a Dawson-Bryant graduating senior and co-sponsoring Breakfast with Santa with the Coal Grove Lions Club.
“Our aim and purpose is to promote the village as a family oriented community,” said Carol Gool, the club’s secretary.
Family Fun Days kicks off this year at 4 p.m. on July 1 with an opening ceremony and the national anthem by Chris Laber.
The cake and pie auction, a crowd favorite, will be from 6-7 p.m. on July 3.
As in years’ past, there will be a basket raffle.
The festival culminates with a fireworks display at 10 p.m. on the last day.
The betterment club meets at 7 p.m. on the second Thursday of each month at the Jae Roush Community Building. New members are being accepted and all ages are welcome.
