William Harrison

William (Bill) Charles Harrison, 65, of Kitts Hill, passed away peacefully at his home on Monday, June 22, 2015, after a brief battle with cancer. He was born Nov. 24, 1949, in Lawrence County and spent his life in Kitts Hill. He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Linda Addis Harrison, whom he married Dec. 24, 1979. He was the son of the late William “Jude” and Nancy Mootz Harrison.

Bill was a 1967 Rock Hill graduate and a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War. Bill was owner and operator of Harrison Garage for 42 years. He retired full-time in January 2015. Bill was saved and baptized at an early age at Mamre Church and was a firm believer that the Good Lord would not take one hour, one minute or one second before his time.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his grandparents, Charles and Laura Mootz and Sadie Harrison Marlett; and his father-in- law, Bartan Addis. Bill is survived by his sister and brother-in-law, Janice and Paul Bentley, of Ironton, and their sons and families, Gary and Roger Bentley; mother-in-law, Donna Addis, of Kitts Hill; brother- in-law and sister -in-law, Tony and Kim Addis, of Ironton and their sons, Josh Addis and Kyle and Thu Addis, also a host of family and friends.

In keeping with Bill’s wishes for privacy there will be no visitation. There will be a graveside service held at Lodge Cemetery County, Road 105 to Township Road 19, at Kitts Hill, on Thursday at 10 a.m. with pastor Terry Jones officiating. O’Keefe Baker Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

 

 

Robert Miller

Robert J. Miller, 88, of Indianapolis, Indiana, died Friday, June 12, 2015. Mr. Miller was born Feb. 19, 1927, in Ironton, to Charles J. and Mary Elizabeth (Shope) Miller. Robert was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. He was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret J. (Hall) Miller. He was a supervisor for Schwitzer Corporation where he retired.

Robert is survived by his children, Tom, Tim and Randy Miller; nine grandchildren; and his siblings, Don Miller and Mary Ann Weber. A graveside service was June 17 at West Ridge Park Cemetery. Richard Neace

Richard William Neace, 46, of Huntington, West Virginia, died Monday, June 22, 2015, at St. Mary’s Medical Center, Huntington. He is survived by his wife, Peggy Neace. Arrangements are pending at Hall Funeral Home and Crematory, Proctorville.

Phyllis Slone

Phyllis A. Slone, 77, of Proctorville, died Tuesday, June 23, 2015, at the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House, Huntington, West Virginia. She is survived by her husband, Charles Slone. Arrangements are pending at Hall Funeral Home and Crematory, Proctorville.
