Eric Miller

Eric Allen Miller, 52, of Pedro, passed away Thursday, July 16, 2015, at St. Mary’s Medical Center, Huntington, West Virginia. Eric was born Oct. 19, 1962, in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, a son of Iris Smith Chudley and Charles Donald Miller.

Eric was formerly a co-owner and manager of Tri-State Industrial Supply, Ashland, Kentucky, and a graduate of Symmes Valley High School. He also earned an Associate Degree from the University of Rio Grande and a Bachelor’s Degree from Ohio University Southern.

He was preceded in death by his stepfather, Walter W. Chudley; and brother-in-law, Randy Martin. In addition to his parents, he is survived by an adopted son, James Michael Miller; three step-daughters, Tara, Kayla and Tiffany; several grandchildren; four sisters, Diana (Bill) Tyson, Gina Martin, Elizabeth (Tim) Hicks and Julie (Brian) Whitnel; and a brother, Kevin (Leslie) Miller.

Willard Large, Jr.

Willard David Large, Jr., 63, of Ironton, passed away Thursday, July 16, 2015, at the Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland, Kentucky. The Lawrence County native was born Feb. 8, 1952, a son of the late Willard D. Large Sr. and Helen Huff Large. He is survived by his wife, Brenda Jenkins Large.

Mr. Large was a graduate of Rock Hill High School, was a member of the local 132 OPCMIA and was a self-employed concrete finisher.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Wayne E. Large; and a sister, Freda Rose Large Stapleton.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Arianne Large of Monroe, North Carolina; a step-daughter, Shala (Shane) McLaughlin of Rock Hill, South Carolina; three sons, David E. Large, Anthony W. Large, and Seth M. Large, all of Ironton; two step-grandchildren, Olivia and Bradley McLaughlin; a brother, Raymond (Floria) Large of Marion; and three sisters, Dorothy Pyles, Evelyn “Billie” Sites and Rheta Faye Hogan, all of Ironton.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m. today at Phillips Funeral Home, 1004 South Seventh Street, Ironton, with Elder Donald “Buddy” Walters and Derek Aukeman officiating. Burial will follow in Hanging Rock Cemetery and visitation is today from noon until time of the service at the funeral home. Ruby Fields

Ruby May Holsinger-Fields, 89, of Ashland, Kentucky, died Friday, July 17, 2015, at the Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland. Funeral services will be today at 2:30 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Russell with pastor Ken Gowin officiating. Burial will follow at Bellefonte Memorial Gardens in Flatwoods. Keidan Bean

Keidan E. Bean, newborn of Dan Emanuel Bean and Kayla Nicole Carpenter, passed away Wednesday, July 15, 2015, at Cabell Huntington Hospital in Huntington, West Virginia.

He was preceded in death by a grandfather, Wallace Wise.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by two brothers, Austin Lotspeich and Kayson Phillips; a sister, Tailyn McFann; seven aunts, Jamie (Tony) Hinzman, Amy Carpenter, Stacey Jenkins, Esta (Ronnie) McCabe, Alexandria Bean, Sara Johnson and Elizabeth (Jay) Reed; three uncles, Sean McFann, Kyle (Kelsie) Meyers and Kevin (Jenny) Meyers; grandparents, Patty (Bob) Meyers, Mike McFann, Valerie Bean, Tim (Patty) Geswein and Nancy Bishop; and numerous cousins

Celebration of Keidan going home will be Monday at noon at Phillips Funeral Home, 1004 South Seventh Street, Ironton, with Elder Carlos Smith and pastor Kevin Meyers officiating. Rev. James Bentley

Rev. James Kenneth Bentley, 65, of Flatwoods, Kentucky, died Thursday, July 17, 2015, at King’s Daughters Medical Center in Ashland. He is survived by his wife, Linda Evans-Bentley. Funeral services will be noon Tuesday at Carman Funeral Home in Flatwoods with pastor Anthony Keeton and Robert Coffee officiating. Visitation will be after 11 a.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home. Burial will follow at the Kentucky Veterans Cemetery Northeast. Jerald Brown

Jerald Lee “Jerry” Brown, 56, of Ironton, passed away Thursday, July 16, 2015, at his home with his family by his side. He was born Feb. 20, 1959, a son of the late Harold Brown and the late Marjorie Smith Brown. He was a U.S. Navy veteran and a retired social worker with over 24 years of service with the Shawnee Mental Health Center. He held a B.S. degree from Ohio University Southern campus, was an LPN graduate from the Collins Career Center, a graduate of Dawson-Bryant High School, but most of all, a loving father, grandfather, brother and dear friend to all.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Dianna Jean Brown. Survivors include his wife, Charlotte Friend Brown at home; a son, Cory Brown; two sisters, Barb Sisler and Sherry Gaffney; four brothers, Paul and Carla Brown, Harold “Rod” Brown, Chuck Brown and Sandy and Larry and Karen Brown; three grandchildren, Andrew, Jada and Bailee; and a host of family and friends.

Funeral services will be conducted at 7 p.m. Monday in the chapel of the Brown Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Flash Phipps officiating. Military honors will be presented by the U.S. Navy Burial Detail, Kenova American Legion and the Patriot Guard. Keeping with his wishes, he will be cremated after services. Friends may call from 6-7 p.m. Monday at the chapel. Memorial donations to help the family with final expenses should be directed to the funeral chapel. Services are under the direction of his wife with the assistance of the Brown Funeral Chapel of Ironton.

 

Lavada Drummond

Lavada Inez Drummond, 97, of Ironton, passed away Friday, July 17, 2015, at a local health care center. The Huntington, West Virginia native was born March 2, 1918, a daughter of the late Curtis and Roma Boggs Cremeans. She was the widow of John T. Drummond, who passed away Feb. 16, 1971.

Mrs. Drummond attended Ironton City Schools, was a homemaker and was of the Protestant faith.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers;, Eugene and Alfred Cremeans.

She is survived by a son, David Drummond of Wadsworth; daughter and son-in-law, Carol and Gary Clark of Raceland, Kentucky; daughter and son-in-law, Janie and Vaughn Martin of Ironton; seven grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren

Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at Phillips Funeral Home, 1004 South 7th Street Ironton, with the Rev. James Cremeans officiating. Entombment will follow in Wheelersburg Memorial Burial Park and visitation will be Tuesday from 11 a.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home. Leva Bloomfield

Leva Faye Bloomfield, 85, of Flatwoods, Kentucky, died Friday, July 17, 2015, at Boyd County Nursing and Rehab Center in Ashland, Kentucky. Arrangements are pending at Bailey Funeral Home.

 

 

Clyde Ferguson

Clyde Raymond Ferguson, 67, of Proctorville, died Friday, July 17, 2015, at St. Mary’s Medical Center, Huntington, West Virginia. He is survived by his wife, Gayle Ferguson. Arrangements are pending at Hall Funeral Home and Crematory, Proctorville.
