HUNTINGTON, W.Va. — Cabell Midland took first place in the nine-team field at Friday’s Guyan Golf and Country Club Invitational.

Midland — a Class AAA school — had three players on the all-tournament team as the Knights outdistanced runner-up Huntington St. Joseph by 15 strokes with a 218 score to the Irish 233.

Spring Valley was next at 236, Huntington High had a 248 followed by the Chesapeake Pantehrs with a 272, the Coal Grove Hornets at 285, the Fairland Dragons 287, and the Ironton Fighting Tigers and Wayne each had a 303 total.

Chesapeake’s Derek Lemley fired a 75 to lead the Panthers and earn all-tournament honors.

Trevor Deere shot a 77 to pace the Hornets, Hayden James finished with an 80 to lead the Dragons and Michael Weisgarber carded a 92 to top the Fighting Tigers.
