The South Point Lady Pointers were locked in a tough volleyball battle with the Ironton Lady Fighting Tigers but they managed to come away with a four-set Ohio Valley Conference win on Tuesday.

“Ironton has some big hitters and we were very fortunate to come away with this victory.”

South Point won the first game 26-24 and then took the second set 25-11. But Ironton back to win 25-19 before the Lady Pointers got a 25-21 win in the fourth set to win the game.

Olivia Abner had 13 hits and Mackenzie Fugitt 8 kills to lead the South Point offense. Hope Aylsworth was a key contributor in the clutch down the stretch with six aces and a team-high 13 digs.
