ROME TOWNSHIP — Lawrence County Sheriff’s investigators are looking at surveillance tapes following a bank robbery at U.S. Bank across from the Lawrence County Fairgrounds.
The incident occurred at 3:45 p.m. Tuesday.
“A male subject entered the bank wearing gloves and a ski mask and sunglasses,” Lawrence County Sheriff Jeff Lawless said. “He pointed a hand gun at a teller and demanded money.”
He then fled the bank with an undetermined amount of cash to a 2000 mid size 4-door tan or silver sedan that was parked outside.
There were two customers in the bank along with employees. No one was hurt, Lawless said
The suspect is described as a white male, 6-feet tall with a thin build.
“We are following up on leads now,” Lawless said.
