Women’s outdoors event hosted by NWTF

The National Wild Turkey Federation South Hills Longbeards Chapter in Lawrence County, will host its inaugural Women In The Outdoors (WITO) Event at K-Hill Shooting Range located on State Route 141, Kitts Hill, on Friday, Sept. 25 from 5-9 p.m. and Saturday, Sept. 26 from 8 a.m.-6 p.m.

Friday evening will be a meet and greet with dinner, raffles and a silent auction. Saturday will be the event day with classes all day with dinner and closing ceremonies at 6 p.m.

The event will be for women ages 14 and older and is free to all NWTF WITO current members and only $35 for any non- members who want to participate. The $35 registration fee will become the annual membership.

All meals/drinks will be provided and all participants will receive a free T-shirt.

The following classes/events will be offered: archery, handguns, shotgun, rifle, canoeing, squirrel hunt, ATV safety, vehicle maintenance, turkey hunting 101, deer hunting 101, Jazzercise, wilderness survival, fundamentals of fishing, arts and crafts, basic first aid, map and compass, outdoor cooking, nature hike, scrapbooking and self defense.
