SOUTH POINT — The South Point Lady Pointers seem to like living in tough times.
The Lady Pointers won another tough Ohio Valley Conference volleyball game as they topped the Fairland Lady Dragons in a four-set match on Thursday.
“It was another tough OVC matchup. After a slow start, we were able to survive with the help of a strong performance by Leah Lawson,” said Lady Pointers’ coach Allen Perry.
South Point dropped the first set 25-23 but then won three straight sets 27-25, 25-18 and 25-16.
Leah Lawson had a strong all-around game with 10 kills, 12 digs and 5 aces.
Olivia Abner racked up 13 kills, Mackenzie Fugitt led the defense with 16 digs and Brooklyn Badgett had 30 setting assists.
In the reserve game, South Point won in straight sets 25-14, 25-18.
South Point plays at Boyd County, Ky., on Monday.
