More arraignments made in drug case

The sixth person arrested in August by the Lawrence Drug and Major Crimes Task Force for allegedly selling prescription pills was arraigned Wednesday in Lawrence County Common Pleas Court.
Andy Baise, 38, of 308 Township Road 109, South Point, pleaded not guilty to one third- and two fourth-degree counts of aggravated trafficking in drugs.
Judge D. Scott Bowling set bond at $50,000 cash or surety and set a pretrial for Sept. 23.
Baise and five others, all of whom have entered not guilty pleas to similar trafficking charges, were arrested following a two-month investigation by the drug task force.
In other cases:
• Amanda Castle, 32, and Dorothy McGill, 34, both of 2201 N. Fourth St., Ironton, each pleaded guilty to a fifth-degree count of trafficking in drugs.
Bowling ordered presentence investigation and set sentencing for Wednesday.
• Willis Childers Jr., 47, of 149 Township Road 1063, was arraigned on two fourth-degree counts of domestic violence, to which he pleaded not guilty. He also denied community control sanctions violations. Bond was set at $20,000 cash or surety plus own-recognizance. A pretrial was set for Sept. 23.
• Kayla Burke, 30, of 914 Walnut St., Ironton, admitted CCS violations and was sentenced to treatment at Mended Reeds.
• Herman Dement, 36, of 513 N. Sixth St., Ironton, admitted CCS violations and was sentenced to six months in prison.
• Randy Delong, 34, of 800 Fletcher Pike, South Charleston, Ohio, was sentenced to four years in prison, a $1,000 fine and lifelong driver’s license suspension. He previously pleaded guilty to counts of third-degree DUI and misdemeanor driving under suspension.
• Tyler Denny, 28, of 621 S. Eighth St. Apt. D, Ironton, was arraigned on a fifth-degree count of possession of heroin, to which he pleaded not guilty. Bowling set bond at $10,000 OR and $3,500 cash or surety. A pretrial was set for Sept. 23.
• Brandi McMaster, 32, of 167 Township Road 1007, Chesapeake, was arraigned on fifth-degree counts of possession of heroin and possession of drugs, to which she pleaded not guilty. Bowling set bond at $10,000 OR and $2,000 cash or surety. A pretrial was set for Sept. 23.
• Matthew Harmon, 25, of 1118 S. Fifth St., Ironton, was arraigned on a fifth-degree count of possession of heroin, to which he pleaded not guilty. Bowling set bond at $10,000 OR and $2,500 cash or surety. A pretrial was set for Sept. 23.
• William Webb II, 28, of 1118 S. Fifth St., Ironton, was arraigned on fifth-degree counts of theft, breaking and entering and receiving stolen property, to which he pleaded not guilty. Bond was set at $10,000 OR plus GPS monitoring. A pretrial was set at for Sept. 23.
• Paul McMackin, 56, of 201 Compliment St., Coal Grove, was sentenced to four years CCS under intensive supervised probation and STAR for three fifth- and one fourth-degree count of trafficking in drugs, to which he previously pleaded guilty. He was also ordered to pay $3,750 in fines, perform 200 hours of community service and his driver’s license was suspended for six months.
• Shawn Runnels, 39, of 803 N. Kenova St., South Point, was arraigned on a fourth-degree count of grand theft, to which he pleaded not guilty. Bond was set at $20,000 OR and a pretrial was set for Sept. 23.
