CANNONSBURG, Ky. — For the South Point Lady Pointers, it was just a matter of “setting” the stage.

Brooklyn Badgett’s setting enabled the Lady Pointers to sweep the Boyd County Lady Lions in three sets on Monday, 25-15, 25-20 and 25-21.

“The big difference in this match was setter Brooklyn Badgett. I cannot say enough good things about Brooklyn,” said South Point coach Allen Perry.

“She is a true competitor and her heads-up play tonight when our hitters were struggling kept us on top.”

Badgett got plenty of help from her teammates. Mackenzie Fugitt with 16 points that included 11 kills and 5 aces. Hope Aylsworth led the defense with 7 digs.

The South Point junior varsity won in two sets, 21-13, 21-3.

The Lady Pointers visit Portsmouth on Tuesday in an Ohio Valley Conference game.
