Jeff Shuff

April 1, 1977 — Sept. 10, 2015

Jeffery Scott Shuff, 38, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, Sept. 10, 2015. He was born in Ironton on April 1, 1977. He was employed at Advanced Vision of Ironton. Jeff graduated from Ironton High School in 1995. Jeff is survived by his parents, Jackie Yates Shuff Jenkins and Ronnie Jenkins, of Ironton and Sam and Becky Shuff, of Interlachen, Florida.

In addition to his parents, Jeff is survived by his fiancee and love of his life, Amanda Holt; his pride and joy, 3-year-old son, Austyn Joseph whom he loved very much; two brothers, Scott Johnson and Sammy Shuff; maternal grandmother, JoAnn (Preston) and Frank Gollihue; stepgrandmother, Janet Yates; paternal grandfather, Sam Shuff; a host of aunts and uncles; and many, many friends.

Jeff was preceded in death by a maternal grandfather, Charles Yates; and a paternal grandmother, Lillian Shuff.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Thursday at the Tracy Brammer – Monroe Funeral Home with pastor Dave Schugg officiating. Burial will immediately follow at Woodland Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be as follows: Scott Johnson, Brent Pelfrey, Greg Haynes, Art Holt, Jeremy Meadows, Mac Yates, Chuck Yates and Alton Shuff.

 William Clement

May 22, 1951— Sept. 13, 2015

William Berkley Clement Jr., 64, passed away Sunday, Sept. 13, 2015, at King’s Daughters Medical Center. The Lawrence County native was born May 22, 1951, a son of the late William Berkley Clement Sr. and Lila Wilson Clement. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Mary Coffman Clement, who passed away in 2006.

Mr. Clement was a graduate of Dawson-Bryant High School. He was also employed with Lawrence County Community Action Organization. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, old cars, riding motorcycles and spending time with family. He was of the Baptist faith.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Julie Clement.

He is survived by two daughters, Kristi (Michael) Bruce, of New Bern, North Carolina, and Amanda (Joe) Randolph, of Kitts Hill; sister, Nellie (Cecil) Coffman, of Kitts Hill; two grandchildren, Lucas Bruce, of Ironton and Shawna Bruce, of New Bern, North Carolina; nephew, Scott (Kim) Coffman, of Kitts Hill; niece, Courtney (Nick) Poynor, of Kitts Hill; great-nephew, Logan Coffman; and two great-nieces, Veronica and Katelyn Poynor.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at Phillips Funeral Home with Brother Mike Triplett officiating. Burial will follow in Ross Cemetery and visitation will be from 6-9 p.m. today at the funeral home. Donations may be made to the MDA, 222 S.  Earnest Vanderhoof

Earnest Eugene “Gene” Vanderhoof, 84, of Flatwoods, Kentucky, died Saturday, Sept. 12, 2015, at Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland. He is survived by his wife, Frances Hamilton-Vanderhoof. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Advance Memorial United Methodist Church in Flatwoods with pastors Mark Wilson and JR Gullett officiating. William Bill Stover, 87, of Ceredo, West Virginia, died Sunday, Sept. 13, 2015 at the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House, Huntington. He is survived by his wife, Karen Sommerville Stover. A graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Rome Cemetery, Proctorville. Visitation will begin at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Hall Funeral Home and Crematory, Proctorville.  Edith Chaney

Edith Isabelle Chaney, 82, of Ironton, died Saturday, Sept. 12, 2015, at Community Hospice Care Center, Ashland. She is survived by her husband, George Chaney. Arrangements are pending at the Tracy Brammer-Monroe Funeral Home.
