Jr. Flyers soccer tie with Russell, 2-2

The St. Joseph Junior Flyers played to a 2-2 tie on Thursday against the Russell Red Devils in a junior varsity soccer game.

Tre Neal and Bryson Canter score the St. Joseph goals. Goalie Bradley Rist had 11 saves for the Flyers.

Ironton girls’ tennis loses tough match

The Ironton Lady Fighting Tigers dropped a heartbreaking tennis match on Thursday to the Minford Falcons, 2-3.

No. 1 singles player Aleigha Justice won her match to stay unbeaten.

No. 1 doubles team Holly Bruce and Sophia Caines also got a win.

Ironton hosts senior night at 3:30 p.m. on Monday against Portsmouth.

Lady Pointers win 2 volleyball games

The South Point Lady Pointers won a pair of two-set volleyball games on Thursday as they beat Cross Lanes Christian 25-18, 25-14 and St. Joseph 25-11, 25-20.

 

Lady Vikings down Sciotoville East

The Symmes Valley Lady Vikings swept the Sciotoville East Lady Tartans in Southern Ohio Conference volleyball game on Thursday.

The Lady Vikings won 25-13, 25-11 and 25-22.

Taylor Webb led the Vikes with 16 points and Caitlyn Crabtree had 14 kills.

“The girls all played well tonight,” said Lady Vikings’ coach Amanda Carpenter.

Symmes Valley visits St. Joseph on Monday.
