App promotes lack of respect

As if people needed another avenue to show their lack of respect for each other.
A new app called Peeple allows users to rate the people in their lives. Just like rating hotels or restaurants, the user can decree a person is worthy of one to five stars.
Unfortunately, this will likely become nothing more than a new way for us to denigrate each other.
With Peeple users can review anyone they want. When that happens, subjects will get a text telling them to go to the app and see what others are saying about them.
If the review praises the subject, that goes on the app immediately. If it is a pan, there is private inbox where it goes so the reviewer and reviewee can duke it out, hopefully verbally.
Right now Peeple can only be used by those with iPhones, but their creators, Julia Cordray and Nicole McCullough, say it will be available in more ways next month.
Not only do they want to spread Peeple across the world, they defend what they have done. They say it was a way to find out who to trust when needing someone to watch their children.
Give us a break.
There are kinder and easier ways to vet someone who might be caring for their children as the app haplessly proclaims.
Boycotting this app should be a no-brainer.
