PEDRO — The Rock Hill Redwomen were like a singer practicing the scale: they finished on a high note.

The Redwomen closed out the volleyball season with a pair of victories this week.

On Monday, Rock Hill swept Minford 25-18, 25-12 and 25-10.

Kaci Russell and Sami Dillon scored 14 points each, Elisabeth Wilds had 11 kills and Jill Hairston 5 kills.

“This team is working hard, making plays and finishing. It’s been a great team effort,” said Rock Hill coach Mary Ferguson.

The Redwomen followed up the win on Tuesday with a five-set Ohio Valley Conference win at Ironton.

Rock Hill won 18-25, 25-23, 19-25, 25-23 and 15-7 in the tiebreaker.

Wilds had 9 kills, Hairston 8 kills, Jenna Lane and Russell 7 kills each, Dillon 14 points and Alysssa Monnig 5 points.

“Tonight was definitely a team effort. Everyone stepped it up when they needed to,” said Ferguson.

“It was a great win for us to finish up our conference games. I’m proud of my girls for pushing through and finishing strong. Anna Darby had great defense.”
