COLUMBUS — Madison Riley finally reached one of her goals.
Playing in the Division II state tennis tournament for the third straight year, the South Point Lady Pointers senior had a goal of winning her first match.
Riley accomplished that feat by beating Kaylee Davis of Spencerville 6-2, 6-0 during last weekend’s first round.
Riley then faced defending state champion Lauren Gillinov of Shaker Heights Hathaway Brown and fell in straight sets, 6-0, 6-1.
Gillinov went on to win her second straight state title.
