Joyce Compston

Joyce Ilene Fox Compston, 83, of Mechanicsville, Virginia, originally of Ironton, went to be with the Lord Sunday, Nov. 15, 2015. She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Frederick G. Compston; three children, Melissa Startley (Tim) of Virginia Beach, Frederick Scott Compston (Lisa) of Mechanicsville, and Melinda Compston of Williamsburg; 10 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and a sister, Judy Jenkins (Russell) of Ironton. A memorial service will be 2 p.m. Friday at Fairmount Christian Church, 6502 Creighton Road, Mechanicsville. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made to City Mission, 710 N. Fifth St., Ironton, OH 45638.

 

 

Torrence Linthicum

Aug. 10, 1999—Nov. 15, 2015

Torrence Marcel Lee Linthicum, 16, of Ironton passed away Sunday, Nov. 15, 2015, at Cabell Huntington Hospital in Huntington, West Virginia. The Huntington native was born Aug. 10, 1999, a son of the late Katherine Ratcliff Linthicum and Marcel Linthicum.

Torrence was a sophomore student at Ironton High School and a member of the IHS Varsity Singers.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by maternal grandfather, Joseph Denver Viars; and paternal grandfather, William Perkins.

He is survived by a sister, Addison Linthicum of South Point; maternal grandparents, Jim and Connie Church of Ironton; paternal grandmother, Janet Perkins of South Point; maternal grandfather, Daniel Ratcliff of WillowWood; maternal grandfather, Pat Coleman of Ironton; two halfsisters, Alora and Alexis Linthicum, both of Michigan; a half brother, Tristen Linthicum of Michigan; paternal great-grandfather, James Linthicum of Burlington; maternal great-grandmother, Minnie Hilgenberg of Ironton; and numerous aunts, uncles, family, friends and loved ones.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Friday in the Conley Center of Ironton High School with pastor Eric Barnes officiating. Visitation will be Friday from noon until the time of the service at the Conley Center. Donations may be made in Torrence’s name to the IHS Varsity Singers, 302 Delaware St. Ironton, OH 45638. Lois Cade

March 12, 1948—Nov. 16, 2015

Lois Ann Herrell Cade, 67, of Waterloo, passed away Monday, Nov. 16, 2015, at St. Mary’s Medical Center in Huntington. The Ironton native was born March 12, 1948, a daughter of the late Rex T. and Doris Irene Massie Herrell.

Lois was a 1966 graduate of Symmes Valley High School. She was a homemaker and of the Methodist faith. She enjoyed watching her grandchildren participate in the 4-H and school activities.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a brother, Paul Herrell; and a sister, Joyce Davis.

Lois is survived by her husband of 49 years, Edward Lee Cade; daughter, Lori and Eric Morris of Kitts Hill; son, Doug and Ruth Cade of Rawson; son, Darrin and Sarah Cade of Patriot; seven grandchildren, Brenna and Chad Morris, Jon, Grace, Levi, Ethan and Jacob Cade; three sisters, Kay (Donnie) Myers of Waterloo, Georgia (Carlos) Willis of Ironton and Donna Lipker of Ironton; a brother, Pete (Lois) Herrell of Pedro; brother-in-law, Carl Davis of Proctorville; and sister-in-law, Linda Herrell of Aid.

Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Friday at Phillips Funeral Home with the Rev. Darrell Fowler and Matthew Klaiber officiating. Burial will follow in Aid Cemetery and visitation will be Thursday from 6-9 p.m. at the funeral home. Denise H. Cox, 57, of South Point, died Monday, Nov. 16, 2015, at the Cabell Huntington Hospital in Huntington, West Virginia. Arrangements are pending at Brown Funeral Chapel.

Onedia Evelyn Wray, 65, of Gallipolis, died Monday, Nov. 16, 2015, at Cabell Huntington Hospital, Huntington, West Virginia. There will be no services. Hall Funeral Home and Crematory, Proctorville is in charge of arrangements.

 

 

James Adkins

James Paul Adkins, 56, of South Point, died Tuesday, Nov. 17, 2015, in King’s Daughters Medical Center. He is survived by his wife, Sharon Adkins. Arrangements are pending at Schneider-Griffin Funeral Home, Chesapeake.

 

Glenna Feher

Glenna Jean Niday Feher, 81, of Florida, died Friday, Nov. 13, 2015, in Florida. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Rome Cemetery, Proctorville. Arrangements are pending at Slack and Wallace Funeral Home.

 

 

Jean Wylie

Jean Ann Noll Wylie, 85, formerly of Chesapeake, died on Friday, Oct. 16, 2015, at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital in Plano, Texas. A memorial service will be at Schneider-Griffin Funeral Home in Chesapeake at the convenience of the family, followed by interment of Jean’s ashes alongside her late husband at Rome-Proctorville Cemetery.
