St. Joseph Female Flyers’ coach Nick Miller didn’t need a doctor’s diagnosis. He knew what his team needed.

After a couple of losses, Miller knew his team needed to play well and get a win and that’s just what the Female Flyers got on Thursday as they beat the Rose Hill Lady Royals 69-30.

“We played pretty well. It was a nice win,” said Miller. “We were able to get everyone some playing time and get some valuable experience.”

Morgan Turner had a game-high 17 points to go with 3 assists and 3 steals while Lynsey Booker had 14 points, 7 rebounds, 4 assists and 5 steals to lead the Female Flyers (2-2).

Grace Miller came off the bench to score 13 points, Megan Riley grabbed 7 rebounds and Alyson Johnson and Ashley Bartram pulled down 5 rebounds each.

Kendra Steele scored 15 points to lead Rose Hill (1-2).

Turner and Booker had 5 points each as St. Joseph took a 17-6 first quarter lead.

Turner had 5 more points in the second quarter as the lead grew to 33-11 at the break.

Booker and Turner scored 7 points each in the third quarter to offset 8 points by Steele as St. Joseph built a 51-19 cushion.

Miller got 8 of her points in the fourth quarter.

St. Joseph plays at Portsmouth next Wednesday.
