GALLIPOLIS — Sydney Webb had a three-mendous game. Her teammates weren’t too bad, either.

Webb drained four 3-pointers and scored 22 points as the Ironton Lady Fighting Tigers cruised past the Gallipolis Blue Angels 79-34 Ohio Valley Conference win on Thursday.

Ironton (5-0, 3-0) forced 40 turnovers en route to the lopsided win that saw four players in double figures.

“It was a workmanlike performance,” said Ironton coach Doug Graham. “Our passing and rebounding was really good today.”

D’Laynie Keith scored 14 points for Ironton and Lexie Barrier had 12 points and 6 rebounds.

The number 8 was big for Lexie Wise who had 13 points to go with 8 rebounds, 8 assists and 8 steals.

Jalea Caldwell scored 12 points for Gallipolis (0-4, 0-3).

Ironton raced to a 21-9 first quarter lead and stretched the margin to 36-19 at the half.

The Lady Fighting Tigers came out strong in the third quarter as they doubled up the difference to lead 58-27.

On Monday, Ironton visits Rock Hill and Gallipolis hosts Coal Grove in OVC games.
