Quartet lead SP girls’ win

SOUTH POINT — The South Point Lady Pointers ganged up on the Portsmouth Lady Trojans.

The Lady Pointers had four players in double figures as they rolled to a 60-41 Ohio Valley Conference win over the Lady Trojans on Thursday.

Brooklyn Badgett scored 15 points to lead the quartet. Madison Kearns hit three 3-pointers and scored 12 points while Haley Rawlins and Kate Mundy scored 11 points each.

Semajah Parker scored 13 points for Portsmouth (2-4, 1-2).

South Point (2-1, 2-1) took a 17-13 first quarter lead as Badgetts scored 8 points and Rawlins added 5. Jasmine Eley, Faythe Lee and Wesleigh Jackson each hit 3-pointers for the Lady Trojans.

The Lady Pointers opened up a 33-23 halftime lead as six different players scored.

Munday had 5 points including a 3-pointer in the third quarter as South Point extended the lead to 48-35. Parker had 6 points in the quarter for Portsmouth.

On Monday, South Point visits Fairland and Portsmouth hosts Chesapeake in league games.
