Comment period open for bridge replacement
DECATUR TOWNSHIP — The Ohio Department of Transportation – District 9’s Planning and Engineering Department is seeking public input on the following bridge replacement project in Lawrence County.
LAW-93-15.39 (PID: 10379) – It is proposed to replace two structures over a tributary of Pine Creek on State Route 93 in Decatur Township. The first structure is a single-span, reinforced concrete slab, and the new structure will be a precast, reinforced concrete four-sided culvert with concrete wing walls and footings. The second structure is a 60-inch corrugated metal pipe culvert, which will be replaced with a precast, reinforced concrete four-sided culvert. Approximately 0.493 acres of permanent right of way will be required for construction; however, no homes or businesses will be removed as a result of the project.
The project is expected to be awarded in the spring of 2017, and a road closure may be necessary in order to complete construction. Additional information regarding the proposed project, including a complete description, maps and plans sheets, is available online at http://www.dot.state.oh.us/districts/D09/Pages/Public-Involvement-Process.aspx.
Issues the public may wish to comment on include the effect on local residents, air quality, the local economy, and historic or cultural resources. Written comments should be submitted by Dec. 25, or the deadline date that is posted on the website, to: Greg Manson, ODOT District 9 Environmental Supervisor
