RIO GRANDE — The Meigs Marauders came into Saturday’s game unbeaten and they stayed that way.

Meigs ran its record to 5-0 with a 71-39 win over the Rock Hill Redmen in The Newt Oliver Classic at the University of Rio Grande on Saturday.

Colton Lilly had 25 points and nine rebounds to lead Meigs. Kaileb Sheets added 16 points, five assists and three steals. Christian Mattox had 10 points.

Rock Hill (0-5) was led by Nathan Turvey with 12 points — all on 3-pointers — and Mason Darby had 10 points and four assists.

The Marauders hit 29-of-57 shots for 51 percent. Rock Hill was just 16-of-45 for 36 percent.

The Redmen couldn’t get started as they fell behind 15-4. Meigs continued to adds to its lead and went ahead 36-16 at the break.

Meigs outscored Rock Hill 20-8 in the third quarter and it was 56-24 after three quarters.

Meigs held its biggest lead of 35 points with 7:28 to play.

The Redmen host Gallipolis on Tuesday.
