OAK HILL — It was too much too early.

The Oak Hill Lady Oaks jumped out to a big lead in the first half and held on to beat the Coal Grove Lady Hornets 58-45 on Monday.

Oak Hill led 18-10 after the first quarter and it was 34-18 at the half.

Coal Grove rallied in the third quarter and cut the deficit to 40-34.

But the Lady Oaks outscored the Lady Hornets 18-11 in the fourth quarter to secure the win.

Kaylee Beals and Emily Compliment scored 14 points each to lead Coal Grove (1-6).

Bethany Blanton hit four 3-pointers and scored 26 points to lead Oak Hill (2-8). Brianna Blanton added 11 points.

Coal Grove hosts Ironton St. Joseph on Tuesday, Dec. 29.
