Cold-shooting Redmen fall to Oak Hill, 46-35

OAK HILL — The Rock Hill Redmen must have felt like someone put basket repellent on the ball.

The Redmen shot a dismal 3-of-20 from the field in the first half and fell behind by 14 points and never recovered as they lost 46-35 to the Oak Hill Oaks on Tuesday.

Rock Hill took a 2-0 lead to start the game but Mitchell Hale hit a 3-pointer and the Oaks never trailed again.

Oak Hill was 11-of-27 from the floor in the first half as they went up 10-4 the first quarter and 27-13 at the half.

Rock Hill did managed to make 3-of-5 shots from the 3-point line in the third quarter but missed five other shots as each team scored 11 points and it was 38-24.

Landon Carroll scored six points in the quarter for the Oaks.

The Redmen defense cooled off the Oaks in the second half as they were only able to connect on 9-of-24 shots.

Rock Hill (0-9) was led by Mason Darby with 10 points and Nathan Turvey with 9 points.

Carroll had 19 points and Hale 10 for the Oaks (7-2).

Rock Hill hosts Ironton next Tuesday in an Ohio Valley Conference game.
