Betty Clarkson

Sept. 20, 1953 — Dec. 31, 2015

Betty (Lambert) Clarkson, 62, passed away Thursday, Dec. 31, 2015, at Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital in Ashland, Kentucky. She was born Sept. 20, 1953, to the late John and Jane Lambert.

Betty was a graduate of Ironton High School, Rio Grande and Kent State. She retired from the Bossard Memorial Library. She is survived by her loving husband, James E. Clarkson; brother, David (Pam) Lambert; sisters, Donna (Wayne) Wheling and Diane Massie; and many nieces and nephews. Also surviving are her two adoring pets, Nikki and Pugsly. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her sister, Mary L. Lambert; and her mother-in-law, Nancy Lee Clarkson. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Lewis & Gillum Funeral Home of Oak Hill. Burial will follow in Gallia Cemetery. Friends may call Monday from 4-8 p.m. at the funeral home. Rosalee Sark

June 27, 1940 — Dec. 29, 2015

Rosalee Faye Sark, 75, of Ironton, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 29, 2015, at Community Hospice Care Center, Ashland, Kentucky. Rosalee was born June 27, 1940, in Ironton, a daughter of the late Melvin and Mildred (Payton) Bowman and wife of the late Forrest Gene Sark.

Rosalee attended Pedro Schools and was a homemaker. She loved to play Bingo and was of the Baptist faith.

In addition to her husband and parents she was preceded in death by three sisters, Betty Bowman, Phyllis Aldridge and Jenny Bowman; and two grandsons, Destin Levi Sark and Josh Sark.

Rosalee is survived by two sons, Kenny (Tammy White) Sark, of Kitts Hill and Mike (Paula) Sark, of Pedro; two daughters, Becky (Pete) Harmon, of Ironton and Lisa (Ricky Akers) Gruber, of Ironton; a brother, Jerry Bowman, of Ironton; and a sister, Debbie French, of Killeen, Texas. She is also survived by seven grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Monday at the Tracy Brammer-Monroe Funeral Home, Ironton, with Bro. Brian Long officiating. Burial will follow at Lawrence Furnace Cemetery, Pedro. There will be a visitation today from 4-6 p.m. at the funeral home.

Bonnie Citti

Nov. 16, 1929 — Dec. 31, 2015

Bonnie Joyce Citti, 86, of Proctorville, died Thursday, Dec. 31, 2015, at St. Mary’s Medical Center. Mrs. Citti was born to Hubert and Thelma Gillum on Nov. 16, 1929, in Ashland, Kentucky.

Bonnie was a homemaker and former owner of Citti Gateway Grocery Store and leaves behind her husband of 67 years, Mario E. Citti. In addition to husband Mario, also surviving are son, Micheal (Terry) Citti, of Ironton; and daughter, Tanya (Jim) Riffe, of Charleston, South Carolina; two grandchildren, Alyson (Jim) Aiello and Brian (Talley) Citti; two great-grandchildren, Chase and Reese Citti; and two nieces, Darlene Hall and Dreama Newman.

Entombment will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Rose Hill Burial Park Mausoleum Chapel with Father John P. Noe officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations and memorials may be made to Briggs Lawrence County Library, Ironton. Lazear Funeral Home of Ashland, Kentucky has been entrusted with arrangements.

 

Eleanore Yarian

Eleanore Salmons Yarian, 74, of Huntington, died Friday, Jan. 1, 2016, at home. A graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Rome Cemetery, Proctorville, with pastor Tom Jones officiating. Burial will follow. Visitation will be from 9:45-10:45 a.m. Monday at Hall Funeral Home and Crematory, Proctorville. Condolences may be expressed to the family at www.timeformemory.com/hall.

 

Carolyn King

Carolyn King, 77, of Proctorville, died Friday, Jan. 1, 2016, at home. She is survived by her husband, William King. Arrangements are pending at Hall Funeral Home in Proctorville.

Billie Rae Hall, 65, of Flatwoods, Kentucky, died Monday, Dec. 28, 2015, at Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital in Russell. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, at Phillips Funeral Home with the Rev. Edwin Harper officiating. Burial will follow in Palmer Cemetery and visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Monday and from 10 a.m. until the time of the service on Tuesday at the funeral home.
