Pearlie Mannon
Pearlie Raymond Mannon, 73, of Bidwell, passed away on Thursday, Jan. 21, 2016, at St. Mary’s Medical Center, Huntington.
He was born Feb. 20, 1942, in Lawrence County, son of the late Pearl R. and Augusta Massie Mannon. He was a heavy equipment operator. Pearlie loved tinkering on racecars.
Surviving are his wife, Karen Wilson Mannon, of Scottown; children, Tammy Jo Mannon, of Bidwell, Bernard Raymond Mannon, of Scottown, Tina (Lee) Barry, of Kitts Hill; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; a brother, Earl Mannon, of Willow Wood; and a sister, Eleanor (James) Tagg, of Springfield.
In addition to his parents, Pearlie was preceded by two brothers, Frank and Leon.
Services will be 1 p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 26, 2016, at the Willis Funeral Home with pastor Darrell Fowler officiating. Burial will follow in Brethern Cemetery, Lawrence County. Patricia Hopkins
Patricia June Hopkins, born June 16, 1928, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 20, 2016, at Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital. Born in Ironton, she was the daughter of Blanche (Mohr) and Homer D. Fuller.
Pat graduated from Ironton High School in 1946, and from Marenello Beauty College in Cincinnati. She worked 13 years as a beautician before retiring to be a wife, mother and homemaker. She was a member of Resurrection Hope United Methodist Church.
Pat was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Richard Neale Hopkins; both brothers, Louis Clarence Fuller and Homer D. (Don) Fuller, Jr.; sisters-in-law, Frances Hopkins Willis and Peggy Cooke Fuller; and brother-in-law, Vincel Willis.
Pat is survived by son and daughter-in-law, Tim and Ruthie Hopkins; grandchildren, Levi Neale, Glenda June and Ivie Ruth Hopkins; niece, Sherida (Joe) Dougherty; nephews, Mark (Jackie) and John (Jennifer) Willis; and great-nephews Cole, Clay, Chase and Carson Willis, and Heath and Morgan Battrell.
The celebration of her life is scheduled for Monday at O’Keefe-Baker Funeral Home, with visitation starting at 10 a.m. and funeral service at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Terry L. Jones officiating.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Resurrection Hope United Methodist Church, St. Joseph Central Catholic High School, or First United Methodist Food Pantry.
Michael Conaway
Michael McKinley Conaway, 59, of Ironton, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 19, 2016, at Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland, Kentucky. The Lawrence County native was born March 22, 1956, a son of the late Charles and Betty Friend Conaway.
Michael was a 1974 graduate of Ironton High School and retired from the CAO. He was also of the Protestant faith. Some of the last words spoken in the voice of Dewey Cox, “It’s been a great ride.”
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Penny Lemon, of Ironton.
He is survived by a daughter, Micah Brown of Ironton; a son and daughter-in-law, Michael (Amanda) Conaway of Plainfield, Illinois; a sister and brother-in-law, Pam (Joe) Edgington, of New Holland; four grandchildren, Chloe, Quentin, Bentley and Remington; and a best friend since childhood, Justin Massie, of Kitts Hill.

Willard C. Kuhn, Jr., 76, of Proctorville, died Thursday, Jan. 21, 2016, at the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House of Huntington. Funeral service will be conducted 11 a.m. Monday at Hall Funeral Home and Crematory, Proctorville, by Elder Denver Majher. Burial will follow in Rome Cemetery, Proctorville. Edith Barnette, 98, of Coal Grove, died Wednesday, Jan. 20, 2016, at Community Hospice Care Center, Ashland.
